Stop carrying community work alone.
Immerse is a 16‑month journey where pastors move from scattered community efforts to a focused, shared mission in their ZIP code. Join a small pastoral group that helps you make sense of your community so you stop guessing what to do next, with a coaching team and tools to serve your community’s cry without starting from scratch.
You're faithful to your people. The load still keeps growing.
Most pastors we walk with are already serving their community. They love their people and their city, but the work feels scattered, reactive, and lonely—and it’s getting harder to carry.
- Carrying the vision for your church’s community work largely by yourself.
- Doing many good things but not sure which few your church is really called to focus on.
- Seeing gifts in your people but lacking a simple way to share the load and mobilize them.
- Responding to needs as they arise instead of having a clear, Spirit‑led plan.
- Wanting to measure impact but unsure what to track or how to tell the story to your church.
- Feeling tired, stretched, or discouraged, and wondering how long you can keep carrying it this way.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not failing. The models many of us were handed weren’t built for the kind of neighbor‑facing work you’re trying to do now—and you were never meant to carry it alone.
A clear path you don’t have to design alone.
Immerse gives you a paced, prayerful journey with a cohort of pastors, guided coaching, and practical tools so you can focus your community work, share the load with others, and stop starting from scratch every time.
Cultural Immersion Experiences
Guided visits with churches and organizations already living out deep community engagement. You see real models up close, ask questions, and let God clarify what might be possible in your own context.
This is often where pastors move from “we don’t know where to start” to “here’s where we can focus first.”
Monthly Coaching & Formation
Regular online gatherings where you process what you’re seeing with coaches and peers, grounded in prayer, Scripture, and the realities of your schedule and staff.
You’re not collecting ideas; you’re discerning a Spirit‑led focus that fits your people and helps you share the work.
Community Partnership Activation
With tools like Community Playbook, you choose one focused area of impact and begin forming or strengthening partnerships there, taking one concrete step at a time with support.
The outcome isn’t just more activity, but a sustainable way of living out your church’s calling in your ZIP code with others, not alone.
See what’s working so you don’t have to start from scratch.
We walk with pastors and their teams into neighborhoods, nonprofits, and congregations already living out deep community engagement. In these spaces you listen, ask questions, and watch real models up close, so you return home with concrete ideas you can adapt instead of having to invent everything on your own.
Real pastors. Real churches. Shared load, clearer focus.
Immerse was shaped with and for pastors who were already doing community work but were tired of carrying it alone. Here’s how a few describe what changed when their efforts became focused and shared.
Through Immerse, our church has learned that worship and witness cannot be separated. We started with meals, but this journey helped us focus our energy and link arms with others — from council chambers to neighborhood streets — so we’re not carrying public witness alone.

Immerse gave us language and tools to steward our 10 acres as a place of multi‑generational hope — not one more program to run, but a way to focus our partnerships so seniors and young people are both cared for. The Partnership Assessment moved us from dreaming in general to taking specific steps with the right partners.
Rev. Reginald Murray
Senior Pastor, Galilee MBC
Immerse helped us see that our calling at The Gathering is bigger than our campus. The cultural immersion and coaching clarified our focus in Tucson and showed us how to share the work with partners, so future housing, jobs, and ministry are rooted in our neighbors’ hopes — not just our own ideas.

A journey that aligns your calling, your people, and your city.
Immerse is more than a program. It is a sixteen‑month journey that helps pastors move from scattered community efforts to a Spirit‑led, focused mission their whole church can see and share—so you’re not carrying it alone.
Clarity
See your community and congregation with fresh eyes. Through data, reflection, and immersion, you name a clear, realistic focus for your church’s community work in this season instead of trying to do everything.
Many pastors say this is the first time they can plainly describe what their church is called to prioritize in their ZIP code.
Formation
Help your people live into their calling beyond attendance. You gain practices, coaching, and language that make it simple to invite lay leaders into the work so the load is shared, not carried by you alone.
Members begin to recognize their gifts and stories as part of what God is doing in the community—and they have clear roles to play.
Community Impact
Move from good intentions to focused impact. Guided by Cultural Immersion Experiences and tools like Community Playbook, your church starts small, chooses one area of impact, and builds partnerships there instead of starting from scratch.
Churches learn how to start small, partner wisely, and celebrate measurable signs of change. Many cohorts also access a $500 Community Impact Grant to launch a new, partner‑driven initiative in their ZIP code. See how the grant works →
He applied with his community in mind.
Immerse is for pastors who are carrying a burden for their neighborhoods and are ready to take the next faithful step.
Immerse is helping our church move from concern to concrete action for the young people in our city. The journey has given us language, tools, and partners to create the kind of safe spaces every child deserves. For us at Meeting Place Church, applying to Immerse was a step toward shaping Charlotte’s children like arrows toward their God-given purpose, potential, and promise.

Everything you need to know.
Have questions about the journey, investment, timing, or the Community Impact Grant? Here are answers to what pastors ask most.
When do we need to pay, and what are our options?
No payment is due at enrollment. During your discernment call, we'll discuss a payment arrangement that fits your church's capacity. We offer flexible payment plans and scholarships to ensure cost is never a barrier to participation.
Our goal is to remove financial stress so you can focus on the journey ahead.
What's the time commitment for the 16-month journey?
Immerse is designed to fit into your existing rhythm, not overwhelm it. You'll participate in monthly online gatherings (90 minutes), along with several in-person immersion experiences throughout the year.
Most pastors describe it as sustainable and energizing rather than draining — it's paced for long-term transformation, not quick fixes.
Who from my church should participate?
We recommend bringing a small team — the lead pastor plus 2–3 lay leaders. This ensures you're not carrying the vision alone and creates built-in momentum back home.
What makes Immerse different from other leadership programs?
Immerse isn't just another conference or curriculum. It's a guided, 16-month cohort journey where you learn by experiencing churches and organizations already doing deep community work. You're not just hearing ideas — you're discerning with peers and being coached through implementation in your own context.
It's experiential, relational, and tailored to your city's real needs.
How many churches are in the cohort?
Cohort 2 will include approximately 8–15 pastors. We intentionally keep cohorts small to foster deep relationships, meaningful dialogue, and personalized coaching.
You'll be part of a trusted peer network that extends well beyond the 16 months.
What's included in the investment?
Your church's investment covers all coaching, monthly gatherings, curriculum, tools (including access to Community Playbook), and participation in cultural immersion experiences.
At the end of the journey, eligible churches can access a $500 Community Impact Grant to launch a new, partner-driven initiative in their ZIP code. You can read the full grant details and application process at the Community Impact Grant page: immerseproject.org/impact.
Immerse covers all travel, lodging, and meals for in-person immersion experiences. You won't pay out of pocket for flights, hotels, or food during gatherings.
Is Immerse tied to a specific denomination?
No. Immerse welcomes pastors from all Christian traditions. The cohort is designed to be ecumenical and collaborative. We believe deep community work happens best when churches work together across denominational lines.
